Primary Purpose:
Coordinate, plan, and facilitate ARD meetings. Ensure compliance with state mandated timelines and in the development of Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for students. Serve as a special education leader to special education and general education teachers on the designated campus.
ARD Facilitator Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule ARD meetings in a timely manner. Communicate dates and times to parents and staff following required timelines.
- Prepare and maintain ARD meeting calendar for assigned campus and notify all appropriate staff and attendees of the ARD meeting and of any changes/cancellations of meetings.
- Meet all required timelines designated within TEA guidelines for annual meetings.
- Monitor and assist campus staff in completing ARD documents to ensure required elements are in place.
- Facilitate and participate in all ARD meetings and staffings on assigned campus
- Coordinate with evaluation staff to ensure all required notices have been sent, REEDs have been completed and evaluation requests have been sent and received and meetings are scheduled to review assessments within timeline requirements..
- Maintain a record of student services, ARD meeting dates, and evaluation dates.
- Verify accuracy of PEIMS reports, to include related services received.
- Prepare paperwork for all ARD meetings and staffings on assigned campus. .
- Ensure all federal and state requirements are met when conducting ARD meetings.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in required professional development and meetings; assist in conducting district level and campus training.
- Effectively communicate through verbal or written means with supervisors, colleagues, students, and parents.
- Serve as a resource to principals in the implementation of special education services.
- Remain current in state and federal rules and regulations for Special Education.

- Serve as Transition and Employment Designee (TED) for the district
- Attend required trainings related to transition
- Assist in the oversight of the ACCESS transition and 18+ Program
- Coordinate with TWS for service provisions
- Serve as SSD Coordinator at the high school level which includes:
- Obtaining signatures for consent to share accommodations with College Board for SpEd Students, 504 Students, and EB Students
- Submitting a request for College Board to approve each student's accommodations
- Monitoring the College Board for any new requests
- Assist testing coordinator on campus to ensure that each student receives their approved accommodations (if testing during the school day)
- For weekend testing, assist administrator on campus to ensure approved accommodations are provided
Transition services are expected to range from 3-5 hours per week and the SSD Coordinator to average roughly 1 hour per week (though this may vary depending on demands, requirements, or time of year). The position of the ARD Facilitator does not include conducting evaluations, therefore, it is anticipated that some of the extra responsibilities of transition and SSD Coordinator can be accomplished in the scheduled work day.
